~Job Summary~
As a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate, you will work under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor while providing therapeutic services to clients dealing with a range of mental health issues, but with a focus on OCD. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and facilitate individual and group therapy sessions. Your role will involve fostering a supportive environment that encourages client engagement and empowers individuals to reach their therapeutic goals. Although this is a contract position to start, after 90 day evaluation, a W2 part-time position may be offered which includes benefits if contractor meets expectations set forth by AMA.

~Key Responsibilities~

• Conduct initial assessments and intake interviews to gather client history and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and under supervision.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, including progress notes and treatment documentation, in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
• Stay informed of current developments in the field of mental health counseling and integrate new approaches into practice.
• Participate in regular supervision sessions to discuss cases, receive feedback, and enhance professional development.
• Engage in community outreach and education initiatives to promote mental health awareness and resources.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, state regulations, and ethical standards.

~Qualifications~

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A) in Texas.
• Prior experience in mental health counseling or clinical settings is preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and supervision.
