Reagan Carrillo, LPC-A
Raegan Carrillo, LPC-A is a warm-hearted and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who brings a unique blend of expertise and passion to AMA Behavioral Therapy. With a focus on grief, depression, anxiety, and much more, Raegan supports children over the age of eight, adolescents, and adults, offering a safe, empathetic, and creative space for clients to explore their experiences and foster growth. She tailors each session to her clients’ goals and interests, drawing on her extensive training in play therapy, expressive arts therapy, and trauma-informed care. Her background includes serving as a grief support group manager and therapist, deepening her understanding of the complexities of loss and emotional recovery.
Raegan’s journey into mental health was inspired by a family member’s struggle with mental illness and addiction, during which she recognized the need for a different type of therapist—one who is genuine, innovative, and committed to empowering clients. This inspiration led her to pursue a career where she could create a therapeutic space that is both supportive and challenging, breaking traditional counseling norms to meet her clients’ needs authentically.
With over a year and a half of experience at the Children’s Bereavement Center, Raegan has worked with clients from age four through adulthood. She leads the center’s support groups and provides individual counseling, applying expressive arts and play therapy techniques learned under the mentorship of a licensed play therapist. Her practicum with Communities In Schools (CIS) gave her further experience working with elementary students on self-esteem, empowerment, and bullying prevention. At CIS, she also provided psychoeducation for students, parents, and staff, building on her commitment to community-based care.
Currently training under Andrea Alvarez, M.Ed., LPC-S, NCC, Raegan is continuously developing specialized skills in treating OCD, ensuring she remains at the forefront of evidence-based therapeutic practices. She specializes in working with teens and young adults, particularly in areas like self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and trauma, though she welcomes clients of all ages.
Outside of her professional role, Raegan enjoys staying active and being in nature—hiking, camping, and exploring new places whenever she can. When not outdoors, she loves spending time with friends, family, and her beloved dog, Fresa. She also finds joy in experimenting with new recipes, trying different coffee blends, working out, and writing.
