I believe every person is resilient and has the capability to live their best authentic self no matter
what challenges life brings. With the guidance of a professional, you have the power to gain self-
awareness and various healthy coping strategies to lead a more fulfilling life. I primarily utilize
cognitive behavioral therapy to challenge beliefs that contribute to depression, anxiety, low self-
esteem, and general dissatisfaction in areas of life. My approach also combines techniques from
person-centered and dialectical behavioral therapy. In my office, you will find that I am
empathic, compassionate and I will meet you where you are and collaborate with you to set
therapeutic goals that make sense for you. I take the time to share my mental health knowledge
with my clients and provide psychoeducation as much as possible because I believe that
knowledge is a valuable tool.
I earned both my B.A. in psychology and my M.A. in counseling psychology from Texas A&M
International University. I am also extremely proud to be able to provide counseling services in
Spanish as I am a native Spanish speaker myself. Previously, I have worked providing therapy
for adolescent refugees that came to this country for a better future. I also have experience
providing psychoeducational groups focused on teaching healthy coping skills for active-duty
military population. I have worked with all ages, but I have a passion working with children and
adolescents. I am currently under the supervision of Andrea Alvarez, M.Ed., LPC-S, NCC.
